REQUIREMENTS

Did you know that many of the soloists and advanced dancers your kids look up to owe much of their incredible talent to the ballet classes they take? Ballet is the foundation of all dance technique, helping to develop strength, control, and grace across every other style of dance. While not compulsory, we highly encourage all members of the Comp Team to take ballet classes. It’s a valuable opportunity for your child to improve their skills, gain confidence, and truly grow as a versatile dancer!

COMPETITIONS

The Comp Team will do two competitions in 2025.

Redcliffe Eisteddfod held in June/July School Holidays

Noosa Spring Dance Festival held in September School Holidays.

FAQ’s

DO YOU HAVE UNIFORMS?

Yes, Encore uniforms are compulsory in all classes.  We have a wide range of styles to suit everyone.  All items can be mixed and matched.  Except for ballet which requires a ballet leotard.  Uniforms can be purchased at the studio.  Correct dance shoes must be worn to each class.

Jazz = Black Jazz Shoes (Comp Team = Tan Jazz Shoes), Ballet = Ballet Shoes, Hip Hop = Any closed in shoe (Black for Pre Junior & Junior, White for Intermediate & Senior), Cabaret = Heels, All other genres = No Shoes.

DO YOU SELL DANCE SHOES?

We have created a second-hand face book page for parents to join ENCORE SECONDHAND UNIFORMS AND SHOES

HOW DO STUDENTS WEAR HAIR TO CLASS?

Hair must be worn neatly up and off the face in all classes.  It is very distracting for students when hair is messy.  A slick bun for ballet class is compulsory.

DO PARENTS SIT IN CLASS AND WATCH?

No, it is much too distracting for students and limits the space.  We want to have their full concentration every lesson.  Follow us on social media for regular updates on classes, we are always posting stories live in class so parents can check in on what’s happening in the studio.  Aura Studio has a viewing window in Studio 1.

DO YOU HOLD EXAMS?

Yes, we do for some genres.  Classes will be notified if they are invited to sit an exam.  Exams are not compulsory at Encore.

DO YOU HAVE A CONCERT?

Yes, all students are invited to perform in the end of year show.  It is the highlight of the year.  Students work very hard to master their dance routines and can’t wait to showcase them to their family and friends on stage with professional sound and lighting in a full theatre.  Tickets are purchased by family and friends to watch the show.

HOW DOES ENCORE COMMUNICATE WITH PARENTS?

Via email.  When you enrol, the email address you provide is automatically added to our system.  You will receive your invoice to that email address and all relevant information throughout the year.  As always, check your junk folder and add our email addresses to your contact list to stop us from going to your spam.  If you un-enrol for any reason, simply click unsubscribe to be removed.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS TO DO A FREE TRIAL AND ENROLMENT?

After you sign up for a free trial, Miss Zoe will text you a confirmation.  Once you have finished your trial lessons, Miss Zoe will contact you via text to see if you would like to enrol.
